    The storm cost me $$$

A storm came and it apparantly hit the house.

I was stirring meatballs in the crock pot and was electrocuted, big spark and jolt.

Also, it burnt up my USB cable for the printer, my router, my modem, and my network card.
My DVD player is also destroyed

    Had to buy
    new router
    new USB adapter (wireless)
    new printer cable
(free modem from cable company thank God)

I am not pleased, someone thinks I have a d@mn money tree *big sigh and stomping feet *

    Yikes! I'm glad you weren't more seriously hurt . . .

Damage like that stinks. Will homeowner's cover any of it? Thank goodness the computer itself missed any damage though, right?

Luckily you weren't shocked. But it does suck to have to replace things. Did it do any outside damage?

I'm starting to hate storms. Last month we had a horrible storm and lighting hit the farm behind us, the one with the scary tree and girl in the well. Lighting traveled through the ground to our house ran through our phone lines or main electric line until it fried all of the major cables for our whole house alarm system and the main box. It also got the cable box and our garage door opening system but luckily none of the computers. We're looking at a couple of thousand to have the alarm system fixed and the garage door opener replaced. And we were told that we're responsible for fixing any holes that the repairman has to cut into our walls to get to the wires. It was all an "act of God" so we are kind of getting screwed by insurance and the security company.

    SB, ugh, ugh, ugh.

We have a tree dying on the edge of our property, right between us and neighbors. The trunk itself is on our property. Anyway, dh's theory is we let it come down on its own and hit whatever house because homeowners' will cover it. ( ) His way of thinking worries me . . . PLUS . . . I've heard that in this state, trees coming down aren't necessarily a cause for homeowners ins. to ante up. So I'm still waiting on Davey to come out and give us an estimate. (And they just called and said it will now be TOMORROW before they show up.)

STINKS STINKS STINKS, doesn't it? We pay all that money for the ins. and then there are so many loopholes where they don't cover things.

Wow. I'm glad you weren't hurt. Bummer on having to spend the money though.

Oh man I couldn't imagine... When we first moved in to our place we had to replace the main electrical switch because it had been hit. It is true you pay all this money for ins. And they don't pay when they should
