    another update on mom

Today they did the cathader thing. She did well with it and was up walking to the bathroom once she was allowed to get up. Cause they made a cut in that big vein/artery in her leg, she wasnt allowed to sit up or anything for several hours.

Anyway, i was there when the doctor came out to tell us how she was. He said that after the heart attack, the muscles in the front of her heart died. So, the muscles in the back are pumping blood, but the front is just there. One of the meds they give her is suppose to strengthen her heart, but it's causing more problems cause of those dead muscles. So, they are going to keep working with her meds to regulate them and see if they can make her heart stronger. If they can't help her heart with medicine, then they will discuss surgery to remove the dead parts of the muscle and sew the rest of her heart together. The next step would be a transplant, which I believe mom would deny.

Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. Man, it's been a rough 5 months.

Glad to hear she is up after the surgery. Sounds like they have a good action plan in place now that they have seen what is going on. Hope her meds kick in and help soon. My dad had that surgery (although for a blockage) and recovered from it pretty quickly (the surgery part anyway).

Many hugs, you sure have had a rough few months....

Sounds like the dr. has a plan for approaching this. Hopefully the meds adjustments will do the trick.
