Gianna has learned how to read. I don't know how it happened. She started about two months ago with reading signs out of the blue and picking up on spelling of things, words in a book etc. Words here and there. Well, today she brought home a beginer reading book from the school library and just read the entire book to me! It was 24 pages and she stumbled on maybe 5 words that I helped her with. I am so pround of her. She has always been a VERY fast learner but I didn't expect that she would be reading so well so quickly and while only in preschool. I am in trouble with this smarty pants![]()

No! I spoke with her pre-k teacher a few weeks ago about it and they don't start reading exercises until kindergarden. She & I have been working on it but it just happened so quickly. I was shocked. She asks me 10,000 times a day how to spell something. She makes pictures for her friends and teachers and she writes their names etc on them so she has been practicing but suddenly it just clicked.

that is sooooo good A!!! I had one that kind of taught himself at 4 and he has sailed through school. It was so nice for him to be ahead even after he started school. My L on the other hand is picking it up a bit slower and it does make me nervous. She is fine where she is at, but I wish it could come easier to her. Some kids just get it quick and I guess others don't (like the potty training clicking
). She was in pre-school for two years too and we read and do flashcards everyday too. I guess as a parent, you just want them to learn to read...because that is the foundation for everything else...so YAY G...she is on her way!
