ISO -- 9W (or XW) boys Stride Rite tennis shoes (good used o.k.)
Dh took Jonathan out in his 2 month old Stride Rites and they came back filthy!!! I had to clean clean clean... I've decided that from now of, play shoes go out in the yucky muddy and not the others. If the day is fine, his regular shoes are good, but not what dh took him out traipsing around in! Yuck!
Payless shoes doen't work for him as his foot is so wide...in fact, no other brands work for him...wherever I take him and have him sized, they have ALWAYS referred me back to Stride Rite... If you have any good used 9W or even 9.5W, that would be awesome! XW would be even better! I just want some play shoes that will fit him good without paying through the nose for them. Thanks!!! Amy

I don' thave any 9W stride rite...bute I do think I have 9W (or maybe even xw) new balance. My kids both had wide feet (mitch's have thinned out since) so we had to be very particilar about his shoes and I found the NB to be as good, maybe even better fo rhim, as SR.
If you want I can take a pic, they're in pretty good condition and are grey/black so they don't show much dirt. I will also confirm siz.e

Yes...pls...a pic and a price please! Thanks! I've never even seen NB shoes in his size around here...
One thing too about his regular shoes is that I'm picky like you... I like them pretty plain. For play shoes, I don't care.Amy

I know one of them is on the floor in here, not sure where he put the other, but I'll find it
I'm putting them down for a nap now, will take apic fo ryou ![]() ps. I don't like very loud shoes for him at all, these are, imo pretty subtle..I loved them. Hard to find, I had to buy at a speciality shoe store and paid a small fortune.

I know what you mean about paying a small fortune! We've been buying shoes on average every 3 to 4 months (his foot is slowing some) and having to pay $40 or more! Finally he's down to a W (tho the SR person said an XW would be even better) and we can find some of those (W) at the outlet store! Joshua is following suit it seems ... his foot is wide and while I don't mind him wearing Jonathan's shoes that Jonathan didn't walk in really (got him shoes at 8 mos cuz he always had to stand whenever we were out...didn't walk til 12 mos)... I'm a stickler for wearing hand me down shoes that have a lot of wear... I don't think it's good for a growing child's feet... For shoes to play in when the weather isn't great, I don't mind so much...especially if they are from LA gals!!!

Okay-these are a 9xw. They're a little dirtier than I remembered (the one I can find anyway-lol), but I think a quick cleaning with a face cloth might be fine. Make me an offer. Ihave no idea what to ask for them, I think they were 55.00 (because of the xw). I saved a bunch of his old shoes but I don't know why because I won't have C wearing anything that he wore after he started walking so I guess I should sell them..have some cute W or XW keds-red and blue canvas, look like new..but too small for your man, only an 8.

Oh, shoot! I think I may have just donated the size you're looking for. I just weeded out a bunch of old shoes. I'll check for you, though and post later (I'm at work now).
Both of my boys had XW feet (youngest ds still does, older ds is now just W) and I've always had to buy Stride Rite or New Balance. ($$$!!!!) I ended up donating a bunch of shoes b/c none of my friends' kids had feet as wide as mine and I couldn't find anyone who needed them! I'll try to remember you the next time! I think the smallest size I have left in the house are a pair of 11.5XW Stride Rite boots (they look like construction worker's boots, KWIM?). My younger ds is currently wearing 12XW Stride Rite sneakers. If you're interested in buying ahead, let me know and I'll check what I have at home. And I'll check on the 9XW stride rite sneaks. Gotta love those fat feeters!

I hardly ever lurk here (gulp) - HONEST! But now I know what to do with all the XW shoes my guys grow out of!
And i wonder if I could sell the enormous box of kids' videos nobody watches anymore....There is some funny action going on over here so I might lurk some more!
