I just recieved a call from an online computer company to verfiy a purchase that I did not make! Come to find out that someone used my atm/debit card to make the purchase thanfully it was in the hands of someone good at the company and they caugth the mistake. I just got off the phone with the bank and there are lots of charges on my card including several ATM withdrawls of 500.00! The strange thing is that I have my card so someone has made a copy of my card and gotten my pin I don't know how that can happen. I am going to the bank this afternoon to close the account. I paid all of my LA today from pp exsiting funds so I don't think those will be a problem. I don't know how this could have happend other than paypal I don't generally shop on line with my debit card only my credit card. I did recently have to update my paypal account but I thought that was legit maybe I am just dumb though. Lesson learned.

Oh no!!!
Did you update your PayPal thru a link that was sent to you via e-mail? If so it was probably a scam.
I hope that they are able to get all of your money back to you and catch the jerk who did this.

.NEVER click on any links in e-mails from PayPal or Ebay-almost all of them are people trying to get into your accounts.Always go directly to their websites by typing the address in your address bar.
Sorry this happened to you and hope it all gets straightened out as quickly and painlessly as it can

Re: Some stole my credit card number!
There's the problem Jill. There are tons of emails circulating to update your ebay and paypal account and they are all fraudulent. You’re not dumb. They are very convincing emails. I hope you’re able to clear everything up.Originally posted by JillinNC

You are NOT an idiot!!! They are VERY convincing e-mails. In the future remember to go directly to the website (NO links or e-mails) and update there.

I'm sorry this happened to you.
My friend had the exact same thing happen to her - they got $2,500 from her account by the time she noticed it.
She DID get it all back by signing an affadavid - I think that's what it's called.
This is something Dh has ALWAYS told me to NOT do - it looks SO real! I hate it when we work SO hard only to have someone "steal" like this from us.
