has clomid helped anyone

I am on my first cycle of clomid after having my blocked tube opened and I was just wondering if clomid has worked for anyone and how long it took to concieve from when you started it. If anyone can answer this please do. Im hopeful that this will help but Im not sure, although my dr thinks I will have no problems. :)

yes maam! I had 3 cycles 50mg, 100mg, 100mg and am pg now!!! Just found out friday! So there is hope! you may want to check out the infertility - general infertility - clomid crazies board...i started that and the gals on there are going thru the same things! Good luck dear! Stacie

I started the first month on 50mg - nothing, second month on 100mg - nothing and then the third month 100mg taking it from days 5 to 11 and now am 15 1/2 weeks pregnant.

I took 50mg for two months, stopped and waited for af to come naturally, which took three months, then I took 100mg cycle days 5-9 and I am now 8 weeks along. I really didn't think it would work at all but it surprised me. :)

Just about everyone I talked to said about 3 months and then they were pregnant. I hope this works for me this cycle will be round 2 and I hope it works. Patiently waiting to be pg :bellygrow.

HI Heather. good news from me too. took me 3 times also (50 / 100/ and then finally I O'ed on 150 mg)!! my HPTS didnt show + until day 31. So the first time I O'ed, i got PG. i was convinced AF was coming. I am only 5 weeks or so. going to have the official confirmation this Friday, (can't wait). i was just wondering what the reason was that u were on the clomid. i had a laparoscopy done to open my tube and he also found endo which he treated. my period hasnt been normal either and im thinking thats why he put me on it. so im just wondering what everyone elses reasons for it were. congrats to u lotsababydreams. :celebrate i hope i have good news soon. i cant wait to be pregnant. gl to all who are trying.

They put me on clomid because i have PCOS and do not O on my own...i guess i needed a little boost to get me going!!! I hope you get your wish very soon, it is a wonderful gift!!

I am 29w5d pg after one cycle of 50mg. Clomid. My dh was diagnosed with moderate male factor (poor motility, morphology), so we chose to do an IUI with Clomid to increase our odds. On just 50mg. I produced 3 mature follies. Then dh's slow movin' sperm were given a boost by being placed directly in my uterus. This tx did the trick in only one shot! We were really lucky.

today starts my 2nd round of clomid 50 mg. my af arrived saturday and it is really bad. it has never been this bad. does anybody know if clomid is suppose to make your period worse? this is my 2nd month on this and i have been trying for 2 1/2 years, everytime af comes i get more and more discouraged. i hope this round works but im not getting my hopes up. the only thing that makes me feel a little confident in clomid is that everyone that responded to my post it has worked for and most of them in the 3rd month. thank u all for responding it truly helps when u have no idea what to expect from clomid. good luck to all and congrats to u kathy326. im so glad it worked for u. good luck with your pregnancy.

Thanks Heather and good luck to you too! You got alot of positive feedback on this thread. Although I only did 1 cycle, I did alot of research before I took the Clomid, and yes, it can affect/change your cycle.

I am 6 weeks pg today after one cycle of Clomid at 50 mg. The reason for my IF is that I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own. I have my 1st pg u/s one week from today at 7 weeks. All of this waiting throughout the IF process is hard! I hope that we here good news soon!!!

Well everybody as of today may 27th im 5 days late and i hope it only means one thing, im not getting my hopes up and im not going to test until june 1. im hoping and praying that this is it but im not sure. im so nervous and anxious at the same time. i will keep u posted.

I got pregnant on my first cycle(m/c though due to pcos)... then my third cycle.(this was after we got sperm issues cleared up). Good luck. There are millions of clomid babies out there.

Good luck Heather! Make sure you check back and let us know what happens. We have all been through the ups and downs of the IF journey and we are here to comfort in the hard times and celebrate in the good times. I had unexplained secondary IF after getting PG on my own 8 times (five children, 3 m/c) and I got pg on my second round of Clomid. It does work, I've known MANY women who have gotten pg on it. I hope it works for you too, but don't forget that it's not a last resort and if you need other treatments there are plenty available. There are many women here who can give you great advice and support on just about any route you choose to go. Best of luck to you! :)

Well it finally happened and I couldnt be happier. After my 2nd round of clomid I have concieved and my husband and I are so excited. I was beginning to lose all hope and then I was late, it took me 3 tests before I actually believed it. I go to the doctor on thursday and Im very excited to go. So to anyone using clomid it truly does work, just be positive. 2 1/2 years in the making and finally my own little miracle. :preggo: Good luck to all the rest of u still trying, just remember dont give up hope, I almost did and then it happened. :celebrate

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am so happy for you Heather!!!! I did 4 rounds of chlomid and tomorrow I will be 9 weeks pregnant! We went today for our last visit with the RE. Heard the heartbeat and got some great pictures. Enjoy.....it is so much fun from here on in!

I'm not sure what strength she was on. She was dx with unexplained IF and suffered from mild endo, which I believe they removed (temporarily) during her lap. She just finished her 2nd cycle of clomid/IUI and had a positive pregnancy test this morning! They have been trying for 2 years, so this was wonderful news.

Not sure if it was the clomid, the IUI, or the combo which helped, but something clicked. Good luck.

Just to keep everyone updated on Monday night I had a miscarriage. :cry: I began to feel again like there was no hope but everyone keeps telling me not to give up. We have to wait a month before we try again so I hope it works. I just cant understand why it happened and I really cant seem to get over it. All i can do is pick up and move on its hard after i waited so long but i guess thats all i can do. This has been so hard to deal with so for anyone who has gone through im sorry cause i know how it feels. good luck to all. dont give up hope i wanted to but my husband said it will happen again and it will all work out so i hope so. :crossfing :angelw:

Just remember that you have moved ahead in the process. Although you are heartbroken, you and your RE can hopefully learn from this for success in the future.
