So, we decided to take Chance for pictures for "suprise" Christmas gifts...so we go this morning...find him new pants since the ones he was going to wear does not fit this week...go to the studio, and wait, and wait, and wait. So they tell us that we are next, and the photographer decided to bring another group first by mistake, they caught her and said that it was our turn...so one of the boys tha was about seven started screaming and crying and pitching a major fit...which caused Chance to pucker and almost cry...then a little baby started crying, and another little boy...so by the time that we were in the room my dear boy was crying. He cannot stand it when children cry. HE is not a cryer...unless he hears others crying and/or parents screaming at their child...which REALLY freaks him out....so we were done.
On a positive note...Santa was at the mall and he DID want to see him. We stood in line, and when it was oout turn he decided that he did not want to go, but I walked carrying him to see him anyway, and he started telling Santa what he wants for Christmas. They had a long conversation and he talked him into sitting on his lap...we did not get a pic of him smiling really good (he did once but he was nervous), so we took those anyway. So, it looks like Santa pics for Christmas because I do not think that I am going to traumatize him again anytime soon by going to a studio. I think that I am going to break out MY SLR camera and start taking pics again. Ummm, hello! That is one of the things I went to school for!
After the picture studio fiasco we were lucky to get a picture of him sitting on Sant's lap at all...we only got one big smile and this was the tail lend of it. Afterwards he told me "Thanks for taking me to see Santa. I was scared, but he is nice! I like him." Too cute.

Each day as I watch you struggle I am reminded to find joy in the little things, to stop and smell the flowers, and that some things are more important than material things. Your smile melts my heart, and takes the chronic pain away, if only for a fleeting moment. Thank you for the joy that you bring, my son.

Despite the trauma, you got a cute photo with Santa (and a good story to tell). Needless to say, I don't think we'll be visiting Santa this year (see my "fears" post!).

I wish that she had not caught the tails end of his smile...but at least he did go and he is sitting there. He would not go laast year because he was scared of him. I did order a 5x7 for each of the Grands too...so that will be sufficient, I think unless either I or his godfather take some pics (he is a professional photograper but we can never get him to come around when it is a good time to take pics. Maybe soon...
