just wondering what your take is on this... I have noticed more this year that I have some really bad days where I just feel like I'm under a dark cloud and nothing will make it better. It can happen on a stressful day, or on a fine day. I need to remind myself that "nothings actually wrong" but I'm just feeling kinda hormonal, like PMS but not always following those days. It's just been frustrating b/c I'm not myself, I don't make good judgements on things, I worry like crazy. Honest, I just want to take a pill or something and magically just stop feeling so icky on certain days but I don't know that that's the answer. It's definitely not an everyday thing.. maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks? Any thoughts on what the doctor might say if I talk to him. I just feel like no amount of trying to be happy helps me get thru it. I don't know how to feel better on those days and I feel bad for my kids, my friends and family. I think exercise seems to help, which I don't get much of. Also sometimes distraction, like going out w/ friends even when I don't want to can sometimes help.
also. I just recently had a very odd cycle. it was 10 days long! 5 days of spotting. I even took a pregnancy test b/c I was worried. but during that time I had 2 bursts of hormonal days.. kinda like my hormones were trying to kick in my cycle the thing is it's not always around my cycle. I know I have issues w/ low progesterone. I don't know if that's effecting my mood?

I've had hormonal issue before (not mood swings but headaches, insomnia) and I found it extremely helpful to chart my symptoms and days of AF. That way I could look for patterns when talking to the doctor about them.
I'm sorry you're feeling icky. I think anytime there is a drastic change in mood/attitude it's usually the result of something and I wouldn't be surprised if hormones were to blame.
Hopefully someone else will have some more sage advice!

I am sorry that you have been feeling down. I too have had some bad hormone problems and they definately affected my moods. You have had a stressful year too though with you Dad being so sick. I know how hard it is dealing with a sick parent (my Mom had renal failure) and I know that that takes a lot out of you. Plus having both kids to take care of all of the time. Stress can affect every aspect of your life. Maybe talking to your doctor may be a step in the right direction. I hope that you are better soon. Just remember that we are always here for you if you need to talk.

Each day as I watch you struggle I am reminded to find joy in the little things, to stop and smell the flowers, and that some things are more important than material things. Your smile melts my heart, and takes the chronic pain away, if only for a fleeting moment. Thank you for the joy that you bring, my son.

Trusting, I am so sorry you are feeling down. I am beginning to know more & more that women were definitely cursed with the hormanal issues.....not fair. I am sure that it is hormones especially since your cycle has been so messed up. Have you thought about trying an anti-depressant for a few months, just to see if it helps?

Trusting, you have been on my mind and I just wanted to check and see how you are feeling this week. Maybe an trying an anti-depressant for a short time would be a good idea? I struggle with depression myself from time to time so I know that it can be bad. I hope that things are better soon.

thanks for asking.. I'm totally fine... it's random but when it hits, it's hard.. like a full day of dark cloud.. just different from having a bad day.. more like I just can't help myself.. I would hate to take some meds everyday for random days, does anyone know if they treat this stuff kinda as is?

Maybe they can give you something for anxiety that may help when you are having a really bad day.

I just don't know anything about this and what people take or how often if they even need something... I mean if you have a mild case can you take things randomly? or do they only treat things that are more like everyday? do I make any sense?

Well, I know that my sister has something for anxiety that she takes only when she is really stressed out. As far as meds for depression I think that those are only prescribed to take daily. I am not for sure though...they always have new drugs out all of the time, KWIM?

You need to speak to your dr honey. If you are having these days very infrequently they should be able to prescribe a valium or Xanax for days you some help in coping. If you are not feeling down most days then chances are I doubt your dr would prescribe a pill needed daily for depression ie..Zoloft, Prozac, Lexapro or the like. He should be able to help find you something to take when needed for anxiety or stress.
Good luck!Me(37)
