    Lets update....eating, sleeping...etc

I am always wondering what the other babies are doing compared to what I am doing with Avery, so I thought we might update again. I am also wondering how much formula they should be getting now?

    Avery-8 1/2 months old.

    Eating: Avery is drinking a bottle(6-7oz) at 7am, 11am, 4pm, 7:30-8:00 (bed)
She is eating cereal w/jar of fruit in the morning, jar of veggies at lunch and veggie & fruit for dinner(I usually give her some finger foods, too). Are you all still feeding this much baby food or is it time to move on to more finger foods? I just dont ever know what to give her. When do you start cutting out the formula & give more food?

Sleeping: Rocking her to sleep w/bottle everynight around 7:30/8:00. Sleeps until around 7am. She has started taking her morning nap later though....usually around 10:00/10:30. Sleeps 1 1/2-2 hours, she usually doenst get fussy again until around 4pm & I hate for her to take a nap that late. Does this mean she is ready to move to only 1 nap a day?

Thanks for the updates, it really helps to know what everyone else is doing!

Tammy I was thinking the same thing!! I love to hear what the other babies are doing!

    Abby is 9 months today!!!!

She has nurses first thing in the morning, then has bananas, pancakes or toast w/ big brother. Somedays I just give her a jar of baby cereal or mix my own w/ juice.

she naps from about 9:30-11ish... takes a quick drink of mama's milk and is off playing!

Lunch about noon, mostly fingerfood w/ baby food jars if I'm feeling lazy or don't have enough soft foods available for her.

takes an afternoon nap at 2pm. I nurse her to sleep, and she sleeps long.. today it was 2-5.. usually it's 2-4ish. takes a quick drink on waking

dinner...same as lunch.. then nurses for bed at 7:30-8 and SLEEPS THRU THE NIGHT!!! till 7am ish... I am so excited about this b/c DS took a year to sleep thru the night!

Developmentally: she sits well, rolls everywhere. sits herself up from laying down. Is showing SLIGHT interest in moving forward towards toys, but mostly rolls. She's squirming for diaper changes. I have to hold her down w/ my legs at times! She's interacting more, showing her preferences a little more, and just LOVES DS..I'm a little jealous at how he can make her laugh! She's a very easy going baby. Quiet, and easy to please. She just goes w/ the flow. Hardly ever cries, unless she's w/ a stranger. Then she's very difficult to console. She has 2 teeth on bottom. Says "da da da" and "bye bye bye" yesterday she said "bye bye da da" DH just about died!!! she hasn't said mama since her teeth came in. or rarely.

oh and she's getting most foods. Today I just handed her a whole chocolate chip cookie, I grabbed one w/ the fewest chocolate chips, then bit out the ones on the sides. She ate the whole thing very fast, and able...for just 2 teeth! she loved it!

(edit: pulled to standing for the first time today in her crib after I sat her down)

** another edit... she's clapping now! and SOOOO proud of herself!

Geez, we have nowhere near the schedule you do, Tammy! Which is weird because I am VERY big on schedules. Lydia has been hard for me that way, very unpredictable and a very light sleeper. I love her to pieces but she is not the easiest baby. I'm really hoping it'll be better when she starts moving around. She still does not scoot or crawl. She has been enjoying being on her tummy more lately and I really don't think it'll be long before she figures out how to move forward instead of back! lol She sits up great on her own though. She waves bye bye, plays patty cake, peek-a-boo etc.

As far as her eating/napping...it's pretty sporadic. Drives me nuts but I don't know how to fix it. We bathe her at night around 7:30 and I nurse her (still exclusively bf) and she goes right to sleep. Then she's up again once a night. That varies, lately she's been getting up around 1:30 or so but she'll do that for 5 or 6 nights and then it'll change to something different.

She's up around 6 or 7 and nurses
Eats a jar of babyfood or some cereal sometime between waking and naptime
naptime two or three hours later, she doesn't sleep very long, a lot of times less than an hour
Playtime and lunchtime, which is another jar of baby food, either fruit or veggies
Naptime around 1 or so, sleeps about an hour and a half
Playtime and dinner, another jar of babyfood, usually opposite of what she had for lunch

I nurse her in there, too, but couldn't tell you what times. She goes about 3 or 4 hours between nursing. (I think)

I would love for her to eat more finger foods for meals but it doesn't seem like she gets enough when I do that. For instance, on Christmas I gave her potato, carrot, cauliflower, peas and roll. She seemed to eat quite a bit but then we gave her a jar of fruit after just to make sure she got enough and she ate the whole jar, so I don't think she ate all that much of the Xmas meal. She did eat nearly half a grilled cheese sandwich the other day though!

Trusting, she's like Abby...LOVES her big brother! She just squeals when she sees him and he can get her to laugh like no other! lol

I'm with you! I always wonder what's going on with everyone's "schedules."

    At 8 1/2 months we:
Eat 2 meals of solids (lunch & dinner)
Take 2 naps (just transitioned to 2 about 2 weeks ago)
    Drink 5 bottles (every 3 to 3 1/2 hours)

    Here's our "schedule":
    Up at 7/7:30 a.m.
    Bottle (6 oz)
    Nap at 9:30 (sleeps 45 minutes to 1 1/2)
    Bottle @ 11 (4 to 6 oz)
    Lunch at 12:30ish (fruit/veggie & cereal)
    Bottle @ 2 (4 to 6 oz)
Nap at 2/2:30 (sleeps 45 minutes to 2 hours)
    Bottle at 5 (6 to 8 oz)
Dinner at 6ish (veggie & fruit)
    Bottle & bed at 7 (6 to 8 oz)

It feels like he's always eating, so adding that 3rd meal has been hard to do. I've kind of been waiting until he starts crawling or gets closer to the 9 month mark. He's probably actually gotten about 2 gerber puffs into his mouth, so we're still just doing jars. I think he weighs about 21 lbs.

He waves at everything (himself in mirror, cats, toys, mommy, daddy). He also shakes his head like he's saying "no, no, no" which I've read is another way they wave at this age. He says da da, ma ma, na na and ba ba. He loves to roll, roll, roll and push up onto his tippy toes from the crawling position. Loves to laugh at the cats. Mouths EVERYTHING (especially loves my chin).

I'm going to the ped today and I have lots of questions about eating and transitioning from bottle to solids.

ETA: I forgot to add that he loves his mesh bag feeder. He can sit in his high chair eating bananas, pears, apples for 30 minutes or more. It is sooooo messy though!

Sterling will be 9 months tomorrow. Were kind of in the same boat as Rebekka. She eats and sleeps very sporadic. She's up by 6:30 and she plays and plays. She doesn't want anything to eat when she first gets up so she usually doesn't get any food until she gets to the sitters house at 8:00. Then she gets cereal and a jar of fruit.

She takes 2 hour naps around noon at the babysitters, but we can only get her to sleep for about 30 minutes. So when she's at home she takes around 3 or 4 30 minute naps throughout the day. She goes down at night around 8:00, but she is still waking up 2 or 3 times a night. Maybe once or twice a week she'll only wake up once. So were still fighting the tired during the day.

She only gets about 8 oz of formula during the day and no formula after 6:00 pm. She gets very phlemy after she has a bottle so we have to limit the bottles. But we do mix formula in with her cereal to make sure she's getting enough calories and the vitamins in the formula.

She's eating babyfood, drinking juice from a sippy cup. She eats bananas, cheese, sweet potato puffs, mashed potatoes, french fries (as long as their not crunchy), green beans, spaghetti noodles, pancakes, eggs, and just about anything that isn't spicy or salty. Oh, but she loves flavored crutons, we have to hold it for her so she doesn't cram the whole thing in her mouth.

Developmentally she is doing fantastic. She likes to stand on her tiptoes a lot. She is a speed crawler, finally stopped the army crawl and now she zooms through the house. She can walk along furniture and she will push her walker around the house instead of being in it. She can sit up from laying down without help, she waves bye bye, says mama and nini (babysitter) and she's starting to get the hang of saying bubba, but were not quite there yet. Last week she started pointing at everything. She loves playing with door stops because they make "boing" sound.

She has a temper, she throws a fit when she doesn't get her way. It's still a chore to change her diaper or get her dressed. She's a wiggle worm. She loves her big brother too. He dotes on her and she loves it. She is so active she usually gets a cut/scrape/bruise everyday. I swear people would probably think I beat the poor child. LOL She knows what "no" means but she goes after whatever she wants anyway.

    I think that's about it!

Did I forget to mention that everything I wrote changes from day to day?...LOL
Avery is very inconsistent, too. Somedays she will sleep 2 hours and the next only 30 minutes!! She sleeps all nights most nights, but occasionally still wakes up around 4am for a bottle.

Developmentally she just started crawling and pulling up to things. She is such a studier...she looks at everything really carefully & studies it...so different than DS. She is saying mama, dada, bubba & nana(the sitter). Claps her hands anytime you say Yea & dances when she hears music(moves her body up & down). It is so cute!

Its great to hear what all the babies are doing!

Wow!! Our babies are so big!!! and smart....
Jessica is 9 months!!!! very petite still, she is about 16lbs...

She wakes up around 7ish has a 7oz bottle, at 10 I give her a mashed banana(she doesnt like cereal at all and hates gerber fruits and juice) I guess she is a picky eater...., at 11 I feed her a stage 3 gerber food(or homemade baby food, I always add meat or chicken to my homemade food, very good source of protein),she takes a 45min nap around 11:30 and has a 7oz bottle around 2ish. She eats dinner gerber stage 3(or graduates meshers) around 5pm and has a 8 oz bottle at 7:30pm for bed. She still wakes up once around 3:30 am, I so hope she sleeps through the night soon...

She is crawling all over the house, she crawls so funny because she doesnt like her knees rubing on the floor so she crawls like spider man, so funny! She is not saying mamma yet, she says dada (with no meaning), waves her hands for musics and rocks her body for music also...her first word that means something is "Daisy" our dog, a bichon frise...its so cute, everytime Daisy is around she keeps saying "Aiiiisseeeee"

I know there are more things but I can't remember...

7am-- I waker her up and feed her a 6 oz. bottle
8:30am-- 3 teaspoons of cereal and a jar of fruit (she is not a big breakfast person.
Then she has a bottle every 2-3 hours after breakfast.
12 noon-- Lunch. jar of veggies and jar of fruit (as much as she'll eat)
    Naps 2-3 hours after lunch
wakes for a bottle. Eats every 2 hours.
    Dinner at 6pm
    Bottle at 8 pm
    Asleep by 9

She crawls everywhere and last week she started climbing up stairs. We have to stairs from our family room into the living room. She gives kisses and claps on cue. We're working on waving "bye." She can pull herself up to standing. She's still not ready for finger foods.

    Johnny (9 months old yesterday).

    Sleeps from 8:30 P.M. till around 7:30 A.M.
6 oz bottle plus cereal or waffle or toast plus fruit for breakfast.

Play from after breakfast till nap time around 10 A.M.
    Nap till 11:30

Lunch is usually 4oz bottle plus finger foods such as cheese, crackers, puffs, etc plus a jar of food if he will take it (really, he only wants things he can pick up now or foods from a fork NO spoon. He is adament about the fork, lol!).

Play after lunch till around 3-4 . Sometimes will take an afternoon nap but sometimes will skip it all together.

Dinner is 4 oz formula then finger foods plus a stage 3 soup if he will accept it. Also usually gets a juice or a yogurt blend juice. I don't wory much about the juice daily because he barely eats any fruit because he usually won't take anything out of a jar. It is hard to cut up bite sized fruits daily.

    6-8oz bottle at bedtime.

Nursing is done (I am very upset about this). I completely weaned when I found out I was pg because ob said it could cause contractions and I was scared for the other baby. It stinks that I weaned for nothing.

His schedule all in all is working out very well.

Developementally he is walking behind his walking/ride on toys and standing unassisted for a few seconds. Pulls up/climbs on everything. Crawls at lightening speed. Has 5 teeth with #6 on the way. Very good at picking up finger foods and small objects. Very social but will bury head down for a few seconds at first. Waving hi/bye. Tammy, he sounds like Avery, he studies things so carefully. Loves to look at small details on things. Making lots of sounds but no real words except mama (rarely). Hopefully he will pick up on more soon. He loves to "talk". I guess he knows what he is saying, lol.
His new thing is banging his flat hand on everything!!!!!! He loves the banging sound. Laughs hysterically.
Six IVF/FET cycles, five natural pregnancies, five M/C..end result..priceless!

Chance will be 9 moths on the 5th.

He sleeps until 8AM (until next week when I screw up his schedule by having to be at work everyday during the week).

He takes a nap from 10-12 every day and from 4-6 PM every afternoon.

Bedtime is at 8:30 promptly after a bath and booktime, and a bottle.

As far as eating...are we the only ones doing ALL table food? He will not take anything with a spoon...he Will only eat things that HE can put in his own mouth himself unless he is busy and then I can help him for a bite. Here is an idea of what he eats...for breakfast this morning he had half of a bottle, then pineapple (I buy it and Bartlett pears and apples canned in their own juice only NO syrup), Cheerios, and fresh cranberries with juice. For lunch he is having cut green beans, chicken breast, brown rice, and papaya and/or jello. For dinner he will have about the same, but the meat may be pork or steak, depending on what we cook for ourselves. He loves fresh sweet potatoes, lima beans, broccoli, white potatoes, rice, plums, and the Gerber puffs and fruit snacks. He has a snack twice a day and has a bottle at 7 PM and then one at bedtime.

He still only has one tooth! I keep waiting for more. His bottom gums are now white and feel flat, which I am told means that he should be getting more teeth soon. I think that he weigh about 22 pounds now and I do not know how tall he is anymore...but I know that he is over 30 inches now. He wear 12 month clothes and fill them out in the length.

He crawl really fast, and likes to climb on things. He can now get up on the couch and I find him sitting on the fireplace sometimes. He has a really hard head (literally!) because he bumps it all of the time. He is definitely busy. He usually only crawls now until he gets to somewhere that he can pull himself up to stand. He does stand alone now and has taken a few steps alone but he is still really wobbly. He has two toys that you can push and walk behind and he loves to run behind them and chase the dogs. He is a social butterfly. He has a fake "attention" cough that he uses so that people will look at him, and if that does not work then squeals and laughs until they do notice him. He is quite the character! He loves constant attention and praise. He says mama, MOM if he is mad and it is mean and loud, dada, ummm good, bye-bye when he waves, hi, he shakes his head no and says unh-unh and no-no when he is full and wants no more to eat, and he signs for "eat" and "milk" which means he is sleepy and wants a bottle. He has discivered that he can too make noise by banging things like his hands or toys.
