    Hi all,

Hope you had a good labor day weekend. We laid low, didn't do much of anything.

So sorry to hear about Bre's dad, hope she is doing ok. We miss her.

Calley - As for utensils, I got the soft tip spoons, gerber or munchkin makes them.

Nothing new here, just back to another week. Feel like I can never catch up. Actually planning a christening for Emerson and since dh is Jewish we will also have a baby naming ceremony that same day.

We 5mo checkup on Thursday, more shots

Lisa - Sorry about the upcoming shots :-(

Laura - I feel the same way...I was looking at the twins the other day and I was thinking where did my little babies go (although compared to everyone elses mine are still small LOL). Cute story about Cian grabbing dh finger...he knows who has the good stuff.

Lora - congrats on the weightloss and AF

Loren - I agree do what you feel is right and like Laura I had every intention of waiting until 6 months but just like everything else you can have the best made plans and then the baby actaully comes and everything changes LOL...I would follow Klines lead and do what you are comfortable with. Also if it is any consolation 4 months was the worst for us as far as sleep goes...I thought they were newborns again but as we hit 5 months things are running smooth once again w/ them sleeping 7-7:30/8:00.

Calley - LOL...you are funny :-). Love your new avatar...so cute!!!!!

AFU - Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on the avocado issue. We moved on to sweet potatoes which they absolutely love and have also introduced...applesauce, plums, and carrots so far everything seem to be a big hit except avocados...so we will try them again later. Not sure what counts as sitting...but Evan will sit for several minutes unassisted, I ususally sit behind him though because I want to be able to catch him when he falls. I try not to catch him right away though as I want him to learn to keep his balance. I just dont let him hit the floor. Taryn like everything else is behind her brother...I think it will still be awhile before she is sitting like him. But....to not be completely in Evans shadow she has taken to rolling all over the place. It was so funny one day I could hardly get her to do tummy time and the next she is rolling over on to her belly every chance she gets and much to my dismay has even chosen to sleep on her tummy.
    Anyway...here is a shot of Evan's sitting efforts :-)

gena - that totally counts as sitting!! Congrats to Evan And like Taryn, my Evan sleeps on his tummy most nights & naps. Oh well. It's actually kind of funny when he wakes up and has a red cheek from laying on it LOL! So glad the kids are on a schedule now & are sleeping great. phew, huh?!
Oh, question: when you went to the grocery store with them...how did you do it? Stroller and cart, two carts, or ???? Did you just grab a few items or get a full load? DH and I still only do grocery shopping when one of us is home with the boys.
Also, when you were out with them did you have to use the restroom? I can't figure out how I could be out with them by myself for a few hours and run the risk of having to go to the bathroom. I know some places have "family bathrooms", but most places don't.

calley - thanks for the update on Breezy. I was worried that something had happened. I hope she is doing ok - send her our thoughts if you are in touch with her. As for utensils, we use the rubber covered spoons and put them in the dishwasher. I found some at TRU; they came in a set of 3 inside a plastic travel case. My advice is buy more than you think you'll need so you always have one on hand.

AFU - not too much, other than the boys are doing great. Their personalities are really coming out now I started making their baby food; so far sweet potatoes, peaches, and pears. The boys have tried them all and like them, so I think I'm in business! I'll tell ya though, I probably wouldn't be doing it if I was working outside of the home. We'll be traveling to NY this weekend to stay with the ILs for a week. DH has training for work in NYC for several days, so I'll stay with the ILs for the extra help while DH is away. I think we'll also have time to sneak out on our own for a little date one night. Hooray! We haven't been out on our own in 5 months

    have a great night everyone!
    Heather

Heather - Taryn wakes w/ red cheeks too LOL. As far as grocery shopping....I only got enough that would fit in the little hand basket as I don’t think I am coordinated enough to push the stroller and pull the cart. So I loaded them up in our city mini which steers really easily would not try this w/ the snap-n-go and then pushed them w/ one hand and carried the basket in the other. A friend suggested getting some bag hooks and reusable shopping bags and loading the bags up w/ your items that seems like it would be easiest but I don’t have the hooks or the reusable bags.

I have been trying my hand at making their food as well...and they have been doing good w/ it but I agree I would not even attempt to make it if I was working. Tonight I am making yogurt...dh gets the first batch as the babies are still too young but I wanted to practice before I attempted to make it for them.

As far as bathroom breaks w/the lo's...this actually happened to me when I took them out the very first time to get their pictures taken. We were walking around waiting for our photos to be processed so I went into a barnes and noble and just pushed the stroller into the bathroom w/ me and just went into the handicap stall because it was big enough to accommodate the stroller it was a tight squeeze but it worked :-)

Have fun in NY!!!! and I hope you do get to have a date night w/ dh.

Calley - I forgot to answer before but we use the same soft tip spoons that Lisa mentioned.

I can not imagine shopping with twins - you ladies are amazing.

So anyone else not having a 5 month doctor visit? We go in again at 6 months.

Breeze: I am so sorry to hear about your dad...I'm thinking about you!!!! xoxox

I don't know what the hell is going on with the K-man...Gena: you are right it is like he's a newborn again. The creal didn't help through the night, he loved it but he was awake more than ever! And he is SENOR GRUMPY PANTS TIMES a hundred! I don't know if it's teeth or what....he doesn't even seem like he want to bf...and he screamed for almost 2 hours in the car....I don't think cio would work for him because he never stops! I sure hope things get better soon....mama's going crazy!

Love the picture of Evan sitting.........so cute!!!!!!!

Kline started rolling from back to tummy, not yet in his pnp...thank god because he can't sleep with out his woombie!

Hope you all are having an easier time than we are! ;-)

Loren - So sorry to hear you are having a tough time, hope it gets better soon!

Evan is too cute, he is definitely sitting!

AFU, no rolling or sitting up on his own yet. I am guessing that maybe bigging a big baby, he is being a bit lazy! Will definitely ask the dr about it tomorrow.

Gena - Cute pic...he is definitely sitting up!

Heather - Hope you get that date night!

Calley - We had a four-month appointment and the next one is a six-month appointment.

Loren - It sounds like teething to me. Is he drooling much?

AFU, we have big news to report. Molly started sleeping through the night! Yay! She started this weekend. Last night I put her to bed around 9:30 and she slept until 6:45. Of course, I am still getting up several times a night to check on her, so I'm not sleeping through the night yet!

Loren~ Sorry about the rough times...it totally sucks...

Kaj~ Awesome about sleeping through the night!!! Congrats!!!

Just wanted to mention that I've been making Cian's food too (most of it) and a girlfriend gave me this website, so I though I'd pass it along:

    http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/

Also, (maybe I mentioned this before) but I was told that if you pureed avacados with a little breastmilk, they won't turn brown...even if you freeze them. I tried it and it worked!! My breasts are AWESOME!! For those making food, what do you use to store it in? I bought those baby cubes from BRU, but they're not very big...did you just go with gladware or find something better?

AFU: Tomorrow's Cian's check up to make sure that he's putting on weight...I think it will go o.k...but it totally stresses me out...I don't think I like the pedi, but I get tired of trying to find "the right" dr. And Calley, if it weren't for this, we wouldn't have had a 5m CU. 6M is the next official one....
