why do you think that people seem so offended by cloth diapering?

Even in my close knit friends, they just think its so gross. I dont understand it myself. nor do I think its hard. As women we change pads and tampons, surely pee and poo can't be much worse then that! lol
Do you find people seem bothered by it?

when i registered for my first child(now almost 7) i registed for cloth and laundry soap. not one person bought either. they did buy bags upon bags of disposables which i returned and bought cloth lol

    anyway, just making conversation lol

I never really thought about it. I dont think it's gross or anything and dont understand why someone would. My mom used cloth diapers only when we were babies. And I dont see it any different than cleaning dirty underwears for kids who are potty training.

We started using cloth & infant potty training when my twins were 9mns old. I was at a friends house & a person there was like- YOU are using CLOTH diapers????? then my friend looked around the counter at me changing my baby girl & said are you CRAZY??? uh.. no. Saving some $$ and the environment! Plus a cute booty!! They all think I am crazy for infant potty training too. Let me tell you- I Love it when my (now 11 mns old) babies pee/poo in the potty!

What is infant potty training and how do you do that? I have never heard of that before.

As for using cloth diapers, they wouldn't work for me because I just like the convenience of disposables. I don't think it's gross per se but seems like it would be very time consuming. I just think it's a personal choice and I can honestly say that I have never considered cloth just like many would never consider disposable. If you are willing to do it then I definitely say good for you. Every time my mom changes my baby's diaper she comments on how lucky I am to have pampers because she was forced to use cloth with me.

If they think its "gross" maybe they should not have babies who are bound to pollute somehow. Most of the time the poo ends up in landfills - now that is gross. Flushing it is the natural alternative since it is treated and eventually that water is reused. Rather than throwing away the receptacle for the poop, washing it and using it again just seems normal to me. No offense to anyone - we use disposable overnight since we didnt want to invest in the larger CDs - they dont contain poop but they sometimes contain pee. So I think to each his own but since your friends were judgmental with you: Do your friends who think cloth diapers are gross think that the trash truck leaves their home and drives off the face of the planet?
