I actually love them both for different reasons. We are actually planning on going again in August to DL!

I can't wait to go back, Looking into Aug. 17th. thru 21st. We stayed at The Sheraton Anaheim and it was wonderful!
The buffet was awesome!
Oh and staying off grounds, not too many kids!
The Sheraton has a free shuttle to and from the park that runs all day and if you were to miss the last shuttle a cab is easy to obtain and it is literally about 5mins from the park by car. Honestly, our last trip to WDW we stayed at POR RIverside and it was much further away even though it was on Disney grounds then the Sheraton Anaheim is to DL! You will love California.
My advice is to fly into SNA!
If you have any questions LMK? It was my first visit there though, I am sure Marie is an expert with DL questions!
I love the DL section on www.disboards.com I have learned tons there!

I think it's great that you have had both experiences. We're going to Disney for the 1st time (w/ kids that is) this June. Thanks to my MIL
Anyway, can't wait to see what it's like! It's great to hear personal stories....and I'll have to check out that website you listed.

We had planned to be there that week, then Laura posted a question about Disneyland on the GP board and I emailed her and happily found out that our trips would overlap.

The only tips I'd give are to plan ahead. Go to Disney.com and check out the schedules for the days you'll be there. (Go to calendar section.) You can see what parades, shows, etc are at what times on what days. You can also see which rides are shut down.
Rico really loved the Bugs Life area in CA adventure. Also both the kids liked Brother Bear, they have rope bridges and huge slides, etc. If you stay at a Disney hotel, you can enter the park 1 hour earlier than the general public and that's definitely a bonus. We did early admission 2 days and got on a lot of rides that normally have lines in minutes.
Our plan was: We got to the park when it opened, did a bunch of stuff until around 1, came back to the hotel for lunch and naps and then back to Disney around 4 pm until the park closed. That way the kids weren't beat at 6 pm and could enjoy the evening stuff.
Oh, I'd schedule a few character breakfasts, too. That way you aren't standing in line to see the characters. I really liked breakfast at the Inn on the Plaza. It's on main street. You can get in half an hour before the park opens (go through the entrance, then enter Crystal Palace and tell them you are going to breakfast and they let you through). It was less expensive than the other breakfasts and there were lots of characters, from Minnie and Goofy to Chip and Dale to all the Pooh characters.
Have fun!Last edited by MarieL; 01-26-2008 at 09:15 AM.
