    So touched by Marielle

I am still in shock over the news about Marielle. When I was still in IF treatment I started poking around on the International Adoption board, where I met Marie, who was still waiting for Marielle's referral at the time. Marie got me hooked on Guatemala adoption, she then pointed me in the direction of the wonderful agency we used. I followed her whole process with Marielle, since I was just a few short months behind her with the same agency. I remember when Marie went to pick Marielle up, what a joyful occassion for all of us! When I received Caeley's referral, Marie was right there, giving me tips on navigating the agency, traveling to Guatemala, paperwork process, etc. Eventually Marie put me in touch with the folks who have located Caeley's birthfamily for us, whom we continue to have contact with.

I've only met Marielle and Marie once, and dh Ralph. At a little gathering we went to in the Bay Area. Still haven't met Rico. I just wanted to say how touched I am by all of this, since Marie and Marielle in a sense, helped me to find Caeley.

Glad to see such an outpouring from all the FT friends too.

Yes, it is such an awful thing when a child gets such a serious disease! I had seen MareL's post the other day about Marielle's fever being back and that the ped didn't know what it was. When I saw the post about MarieL needing our prayers my heart just dropped - then I saw "Leukemia". It is so scary how things are going along fine in your life and then Wham. I am just so thankful that the type she has has such a high cure rate.
