What kind of Activities with 16 month old?

I run a small in home daycare, you'd think I'd know these things! I haven't had one this little in a long time. My Steven likes to do what the big kids do but we can't do play dough because he still tries to eat it. He loves to stack blocks, color and play hide and seek, ring around the rosie, those types of things.. but I can't remember for the life of me what I used to do with Lane when he was this age. I remember reading lots of books but Steven won't sit still. You can read a book while he runs around the room other than that he has an attention span of about 2 seconds lol. He does love his lift the flap books and will look at them the longest.

So what type of activities are you doing with your child? Thanks

I have a 16 month old and he is VERY active!!! For quiet activities he loves to listen to soft music, be sung to, painting or scribbling supervised, and he will sit still for several short books or part of a short video like Baby Einstein or Hap Palmer. Liift the flap books are great as well as touch and feel books and books with REAL pictures of babies and objects.

For active things he likes rolling or throwing balls, playing with a mini Swiffer, small mop, and small broom and he LOVES rolling his play grocery cart around. Types of toys that are hits with him are FP ball popper where the balls pop up to various tunes, bubble gum machine where balls roll out when lever is pushed, and this Discovery toys castle where balls roll around a maze. He loves Gym Rompers where they do a parachute thing, sing songs, blow bubbles to a song, and play on equipment. Pots and pans are great toys!!!

Outside riding a push trike, playing with leaves and dirt, playing with sand and water. He likes running and hiding. He likes playing with plastic watering cans and dancing to music.
