About LinkBacksIt's not a referral....yetJust thought I'd get that out of the way
So....
we have been holding off on asking for updates about referrals and timelines. But the past few weeks I've been thinking about it. So we get an email from our agency that our dossier (the papers that go to VN) are back from the embassy. I responded to ask if they would be going to VN soon, and I broke down and asked if there was any word about referrals.
I heard back right away and was SO glad I asked! Our dossier was being hand delivered the next day (This email was last friday) by our agency director!!! And.... here's what we learned: There are 5 baby girls in the baby center right now. They're all little and have to be 6 weeks before they get their doctor visits. Once clear medicals are received, referrals will be made AND we are in the TOP 2 on the list for referrals!!!!!!!! Our email said "and I know you can do math, so......".
I think I'm just now starting to come out of shock. Our daughter could be (probably is) in that group of 5. Can you believe it? I just can't believe this is happening. I can't believe that we will know who she is very soon. I think I'm going to explode and wanted to share with you guys! Thanks for being there

Heather, we're not sure yet. We want to wait and see what her given name is. If we don't keep her Vietnamese name as her first name, we will definitely use it as (one of) her middle names. I'm also curious to know if her name was given to her by the orphanage or her birth parents. I feel like if it was from her birth parents it's more meaningful. We joke that this kid's going to have 18 names If we move her VN name to middle, she will also have the middle name of Ruth for my grammy, and her last name will be hyphenated. I kept my maiden name and steve and I decided to give our kids both last names. So she'll probably be this tiny little thing with a name a mile long
