Hi,
My husband & I have submitted our application. Now its time to start working on putting together our picture profile. Can someone give me some ideas on putting this together. I found a great website that can make the book...www.shutterfly.com however I am having a problem deciding what types of information to share & the types of pictures. Any help is greatly appreicated.
Thanks,
TW

I think there should be pictures of you as a loving couple, interacting with children (not just poses) and things that you all love doing as my social worker has told us. Best of luck to you all.

I would have a short introduction then devote a page to you and you partner as individuals - where you are from, tidbits from your childhood, etc. Then a page about you as a couple - how and when you met, when you got married, etc. You could briefly explain your efforts to ttc and why you chose adoption. Another page could be devoted to your interests. Another page or section would concern your extended family and how they will play a role in the child's life. Finally you can wrap it up with a conclusion about how you would raise an adopted child, if welcome contact with birthfamily, etc. I would shy away from calling the bparent "heroes" but you can express that you feeling that their choice to form a birth plan is "selfless act" or "in the best interest of their child." I would include relevant pics with each page and dont be afraid to express a negative (such as being a child of divorce) as it makes you seem human like the rest of us. Good luck!

Oh I forgot to mention that pics of your home and your area are good for allowing the bparents to imagine the baby with you. You dont need to detail any specifics but can mention the type of home (and any plans for a baby's room) and proximity to kid friendly sites likes parks, beaches/lakes, good schools, etc. If you have a family friendly neighborhood that would be a plus
