Adoption Facility wants an answer now! (Children ment)

Help,

Very, very long story short. I am brand new to this board, but not new to FT. After years and years and dozens of procedures, dh and I were blessed with b/g twins in Oct 2003. For a few years between treatments, we pursued adoption. We did all of the paperwork, homestudy, hired an attorney, etc. We were using an Adoption Facilitator out of another state. We paid $10,000 just to get on a 2-year waiting list. If we were not matched within 2 years, we would be dropped from the list and had to pay again (their selling point was that no one has ever been dropped from the list.)

Well, they will put a 9 month hold on a contract. They bent the rules and put us on a 12 month hold because we had twins. In two weeks they need to know if we want our name released to couples. We were supposed to try a frozen cycle this month, but I was cancelled today because of my lining issues. Now we will have to give them an answer in a few weeks before we can actually try again. Dh and I have 8 frozen embies to go back for.

If none of the frozen attempts work, I want to adopt. But I don't feel ready at this point, but I don't want to lose the $10,000 either, just to repay it in a few months. There is a chance that after 1 cycle, we could lose all embies if they do not make the thaw. The agency has been understanding until now. I don't think they will give us another extension.

Any suggestions?

Rea

I don't know anything about adoption and adopt. agencies but it doesn't hurt to ask for another extension. Could you possibly pay an extension fee if there is such a thing? Or atleast ask if you were to do an adoption later could you apply a part of the 10K toward your new fee. So that way it wouldn't be a total loss?

Good luck to you, I hope that they are flexible for you once again.
