info in thailand

my doctor in thailand is Dr. Wiwat Quangkananurug. because this is a bit hard to say, everyone calls him "Dr. Wiwat". he is affiliated with a clinic in bangkok called thai superior a.r.t.(website: www.thaisuperiorart.com) but runs his own practice at a hospital called "Srisiam" which is in the suburbs of Bangkok. he is currently working on the english version of his website. right now, its all in thai: www.safecenter2008.com

i cannot say enough about how wonderful dr. wiwat and his staff are.
its really refreshing to be treated with such care through this emotional journey of infertility. the very fact that you are removed from the stress of every day life, is worth it.

you can go through an agency, but you will pay more than if you just went to him directly, the way that i did it, as do the locals. i can give you actual costs, but have not calculated them yet, since the dollar is so weak,(march 08) its changed a little bit since my first procedure in may 07. i want to say that total, is about $8500(not including all the shopping) including airfare, hotels, IVF with ICSI (we did it because my hubby wasnt able to stay long enough to give a fresh sample)you can also have it shipped to bangkok!

this is the hotel that i stayed at:http://www.siamsocietyhotel.com/
its about 15 minutes away from the hospital. the rate is actually half of what is posted on their website. my room was $43usd a day, including breakfast.

also, cathay pacific airlines has an "all asia pass", you may want to look into their rates. its something like $999 for multiple stops in asia.
www.cathaypacific.com (look under offers)

if you have any specific questions, he is usually very good about responding. his email ls: quang@truemail.co.th

please tell him that "may" sent you.
